Butler or Baker???

Welcome Brothers and Sisters

This scripture is a small time period in the life of Joseph in which GOD used him to help us understand some things:

Genesis 40:8-13
And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.

Genesis 40:16-22
When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.

Notice the King lifted up the butler's head and restored him unto his place.  The King lifted up the baker's head from off him and hung him on a tree for the fowl to eat his flesh from off him.
Your head is the forefront of your body.  It is where all your choices are made, it is where all your thoughts and priorities are established.  It leads your body.  Where ever your head is your body will follow.
The butler's head was toward the King as our heads should be toward our King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Within 3 days of the appearing of our King Jesus our heads will be lifted up.  If our hearts are fully toward Him in all manner and walk.  If we are truly seeking Him with all our heart, soul and mind He will lift us up to greater understanding and wisdom to Himself.  He has given us the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost.  Thru Him we are taught all truth if we are genuinely seeking for such.  Our heads will be lifted up above the darkness and/or blindness of this earth and we will begin to see more clearly that this is not our home.  We are in this world not of it.  Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world"  Jesus will restore us to our rightful place with Him.

Once the Lord GOD came physically to earth has the Lord Jesus everything changed.  The final sacrifice for sin made once and for all.  A new covenant was established thru the sacrifice of His body and blood for all who would believe in Him.  The age of Grace thru Faith.

The three days is an interesting topic for sure.  There are many references to this time frame within GOD's Word.  The first one I have listed for you below is truly revealing.

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

I believe that many of the references in GOD's Word to three days relates directly to this scripture.
When the Lord GOD came to this earth the Day of the Lord began.  An appointed time for mankind to figure it out and an appointed time for the Gentiles to be able to be grafted into the family of GOD.
Here are a few scriptures to consider regarding this appointed time.

Exo 8:27
We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.

This 3 days journey into the wilderness could symbolize three thousand years from when Jesus died.
We are in the wilderness of this earth and are to be learning and partaking of the sacrifices we are to be making by fulfilling the 10 commandments and loving our brother as ourselves.

Exo 10:22-23
And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

This 3 days could symbolize the three thousands years of darkness/blindness in this earth toward GOD's Word and His plans for His children.  But notice His children all had light.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joshua 1:11
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

Within 3 days (three thousand years) His people are to possess the land which the LORD our GOD giveth to us.

John 14:2-3
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

2 Kings 20:5
Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

 Ezra 6:15
And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

This house is the house of GOD.  His people will be gathered unto His house forever on the third day.

Matthew 20:19
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Jesus told his disciples to preach this gospel to all the world.  This appointed time is for the Gentiles so we too in His love would have opportunity to know Him and follow Him.  That we can become grafted into His family and have salvation unto eternal life.

Romans 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Matthew 22:2
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
John 2:1-2
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
Rev 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Rev 19:9
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The Son is Jesus and the marriage is to His Bride of which He bid the whole world to come.  But most refuse the invitation and are left behind to outer darkness.
The fullness of the Gentiles is at hand.  The invitation was sent out two thousand years ago.

Mark 13:20
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
John 4:40-43
So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
And many more believed because of his own word;
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

The Jews considered the Samaritans heathen and would have no part of them at that time.  Jesus went unto them for two days (two thousand years) that they too could know and follow Him.  The time of the fullness of the Gentiles is at hand.

Hosea 6:2
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Back to the Butler and the Baker...........
The Butler was the cup bearer for Pharaoh, he tasted the wine to make sure there was not poison in it.  He was restored to his rightful place as will we be. The truth of GOD is bitterness to those who choose to have a heart of stone.  Closing their ears and veiling their eyes to the Spirit of Truth will be a witness against them.  Wormwood is bitter waters for those without the ears to hear and pure joy for those with a heart after GOD.  Turn your heart to Jesus our Lord and Savior.  His hand is still out to us, if you knock He will answer.
As for the Baker, no need for more words.  His lot is clearly made known.

Which will you choose while there is still time........
