Soul Searching...

Hello Brothers and Sisters

Gen 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Job 12:10
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

The soul of all human beings is most precious.  It is the means by which every instance of our lives is recorded.  Every thought, deed and action taken.  Every emotion, intent and desire felt.
It is you in your completeness.  Good and bad.  All encompassing.

Job 27:8
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

GOD revealed much to us in the Book of Job about soul searching.  Job was a righteous man and perfect in his ways, yet GOD in HIS love for us wants the very best for us.  HE will refine us to get the very best we can be.  Job was tested beyond what I can even imagine.  He did some soul searching in that process that went into the very depths of the most inner part of himself.  When was the last time we went so deep inside of ourselves and look to see what our Creator LORD God sees.  HE knows what ails us and will give us the trials we need to refine us into pure gold.  I don't know if you have a Bible near where you are so I am going to post Chapter 33 of Job for you.  It is a beautiful chapter of GOD thru Elihu answering Job about his own self righteousness.

Job 33
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

Do you not see in these words of GOD how much HE loves us.  For HE speaketh once, yea twice.
Our LORD JESUS was the second and the ransom to deliver our souls from going into the pit.
GOD loves us with a pure love and if you will let HIM, the wisdom in the trails we face is pure.  If we know and believe in HIS love for us then we know that all things work for the good for those that trust in HIM.

Lev 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

The Blood of JESUS CHRIST upon the altar is the atonement for our very souls.

Psa 11:5-7
The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Psa 19 7-14
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Who can understand his errors and secret faults?   This is what soul searching is all about.  Quiet time with yourself and the LORD.  No distractions and believe me they will come relentlessly.  Especially if you are truly searching for what is really within you.  You see... satan does not want you to do this.  He wants you to lose your soul.  He wants you to have to die as he will for his wickedness against all life.  GOD is life and it exists in love and purity and holiness.  It will compliment itself and all life surrounding it.  It will respect and promote goodness and positive growth forever.

Psa 23:3
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psa 24 4-5
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Pro 27:7
The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

If we ever feel that our heart and soul is full and we have need of nothing we are in danger.  Every bitter thing is sweet, this tells me that the trials our Father puts before us are for our betterment.  We need to look at these trials as a growing experience and thru the pain... grow and learn to trust in HIM for understanding of such things.  HE will never forsake us and will carry us thru these trials.

Isa 26:9-10
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

Lev 20 6-7
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

Isa 32:6
For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

Isa 51:23
But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.

We pray for boldness from our LORD.  Let us not bow down our body to the ground as the street.  As children of the MOST HIGH GOD we are to stand up for HIS righteousness and holiness.  HIS power is all things and nothing is above it ever.  HE gives us HIS power to tread upon the wicked.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mic 1:3
For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

Mal 4:3
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
